12th Leaders win Services to Farnham awards.
A huge congratulations to our leaders; Adam Chambers, Maria Finch and Tony Marshall.
On the 29th April, all three received Services to Farnham awards for their outstanding work, and contribution to running the 12th Farnham scout group.
Some ten years ago Adam, Maria and Tony re-established 12th Farnham by starting a Cub pack under the 12th name, undertaking all the necessary training to run, and allow the group to flourish to include a Scout group, and Beavers section.
Adam, Tony and Maria have dedicated themselves over this time, recruiting a community of leaders and maintaining a regular programe of activities including: camping; navigation; bush craft; pioneering; leadership; first aid; climbing & abseiling; cycling and cycle maintenance; archery & shooting; cooking; kayaking & rafting. They have ensured a focus on teamwork, respect and adventure, and young individuals are encouraged to develop leadership skills as they grow through Scouts.
All of their selfless hard work has helped support over 150 young people aged 6 years through to 14 years old within the section, giving them the opportunity and help to develop themselves as young citizens.
This is a deserved award, and everybody at the 12th would like to thank them for their continued service and hard work.
